BC Worksafe Hand Fed, Driven Feed, Chipper Regulation Change.
To see the BC Worksafe approved amendments please click here.
We understand that, effective 1st. February 2012 the BC Worksafe regulations will change to require that the feed control bar stops or reverses the feed rollers when the control bar is pushed and when it is pulled. This change applies to all chippers sold after 1st. February 2012.
Chippers already in service do not have to comply with the control bar change provided they meet other requirements of the regulation for reach distance to the pinch point of the feed rollers.
If your existing chipper (any brand) does not comply, contact us and we can probably bring it into compliance with the reach distance regulation and, if you want to be right up to date, we can probably bring it into compliance with the regulations as amended for the control bar operation as well.
I expect that there will be extra attention paid to chippers in the spring. Book an appointment over the winter to make sure you are ready.
